The benefit is available automatically for prepaid, postpaid and residential customers, helping families stay connected during the emergency.
SAN JUAN — Claro Puerto Rico announced it will offer free international long-distance calls to Venezuela for all of its mobile and residential customers following the devastating earthquakes that recently struck the South American country.
The benefit is available to prepaid and postpaid mobile customers, both personal and business accounts, as well as home phone subscribers. The initiative began at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 3, and will remain in effect through 11:59 p.m. on July 15.
The promotion applies automatically to all calls placed from Puerto Rico to Venezuelan phone numbers, allowing customers to stay connected with family members, friends and business contacts without incurring long-distance charges or completing any additional activation process.
“We understand the concern many families face during an emergency of this magnitude and the uncertainty of not being able to communicate with loved ones,” said Enrique Ortiz de Montellano, president and CEO of Claro Puerto Rico. “At Claro, we want to support the Venezuelan community in Puerto Rico during this difficult time and help ensure that distance is not a barrier to staying connected with those who need it most.”
Claro said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to supporting its customers during emergencies by facilitating communication when it is needed most.
