How do you build an unstoppable career without losing sight of family, purpose, and the desire to contribute to Puerto Rico? In the next episode of El Blueprint, Caroline López and Alma Frontera sit down with Alberto Bacó Bagué to discuss the challenges that this generation of women are facing, redefining what professional and personal success means to them, and how sometimes growth also means learning to make hard decisions.

Both being from Mayagüez, López and Frontera were surprised that their paths had never crossed before. Their respective professional experiences have taken them through different journeys, from public service to corporate communications, the arts, the private sector, and various managerial positions. Yet they share a common vision: to use every experience as an opportunity to serve, learn, and make an impact.

For both women, working in government provided an opportunity to gain insight firsthand into Puerto Rico’s needs. Frontera describes public service as a privilege that requires a clear understanding of one’s purpose for being there: identifying one’s strengths and constantly asking how they can be put to work in service of Puerto Rico.

Alma and Caroline share a common vision: to use every experience as an opportunity to serve, learn, and make an impact.

López, who worked in the Senate and at the Department of Economic Development and Commerce (DDEC), recalls encountering projects, ideas, and people genuinely committed to helping Puerto Rico grow.

The conversation also explores a much more personal dimension: motherhood and balance. Being a mother, wife, and professional means recognizing that time is limited and learning to use it intentionally. That reality has led López to set aside specific time for mentorship and initiatives such as Beyond, a forum designed to share with others the lessons she has learned throughout her career.

El Blueprint seeks to spark precisely this kind of reflection, not only teaching its audience what to do, but inspiring people to think differently about their own decisions, businesses, and what growth means to them.
